HAPPY NEW YEAR, folks! Please join us for our January 28 Mixer. We will hold it  indoors at Mother Egan’s if it’s too cold outside.
Our Guest Speaker at our January 28 Mixer will be Tom Booker. Tom is the Artistic Director of The Institution @ Esther's Follies. Before moving to Austin, Tom Booker taught at The Second City Training Center in Los Angeles where he used his improv skills to book more than 75 commercials (AFLAC, Nike, Sprint, Off!, NBA, Pop Secret, etc.). Before moving to Los Angeles , he studied at The Second City in Chicago , trained with legendary improve Guru Del Close at The ImprovOlympic, and helped to start Chicago 's Annoyance Theatre.
Tom has been studying and teaching improvisation for more than 22 years and offers many courses and workshops, like his FREE IMPROV WORKSHOP, his "Make Your Own Damn Movie!" class - designed for students to take an idea that they have for a short film and then complete a short filmed based on that idea in just eight weeks- and his Commercial Audition Workshops - designed to show an actor how to improve their commercial audition abilities by using the improv and acting skills that they already have. To his credit, Tom was also "Top Dawg" -- the University of Oklahoma 's mascot -- as an undergraduate.
